Woodinville, WA - Mobile Yacht Repair Facility

Marine Service Technician

Description:

  • Perform routine  mechanical maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and assembly of marine diesel engine systems and components. 
  • Willingness to learn new skills such as electrical power distribution systems.
  • The Service Technician must provide own basic tools.
  • Travel to and from shop to boat moorages to perform work on vessels. 
  • Ability to drive company vehicles required. 

Desired Experience:

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
  • 2-4 Years mechanical experience, marine mechanical experience preferred but automotive experience and high aptitude with engine mechanics considered.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and in physically demanding conditions.
  • Ability to lift heavy items, work in confined spaces.
  • Some  fabrication, and/or experience with marine paint schemes a plus.
  • Machining experience a plus.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office-Word, Excel and Outlook a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers


$18.00 - $28.00 per hour – Health Care available after 30 days on the job. 

Shipyard Construction & Repair

Shipfitters & Welders (Aluminum Experience Preferred)

Seattle Shipyard Shipfitters Needed at Multiple Locations! Employees are responsible for the metal fabrication and repair of steel, aluminum and other metals aboard vessels.


Description:

· Set-up and welding of aluminum and steel plates including the use of; Welding Machines, Circular Saws, Band Saws, Chop Saws, Jig Saws, Plasma cutter and cutting wheels on grinders.

· Lays-out and fabricates steel and aluminum structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, and frames, and braces them in position within hull of ship for welding.

· Lays out position of parts within hull form, working from blueprints or templates and using hand tools.

· Locates and marks reference lines, such as center, buttock and frame lines.

· Aligns parts in relation to each other, using jacks, come-a-longs, turnbuckles, clips, wedges and mauls.


Minimum Requirements:

Generally, requires 3-5 years' experience, preferably within the maritime industry (aluminum experience preferred). Shipfitters and Welders are required to be able to operate gas/oxygen cutting torches, plasma torch, shop machinery and must have knowledge of blueprint ready. Welders need to pass FCAW test and WABO card is helpful in gaining employment. Pre-employment drug testing are also pre-requisite of employment.


Working Conditions

Work is performed in a Shipyard and there may be extreme temperatures and conditions. At time you will work in areas that have less adequate ventilation. There will be heavy lifting and climbing to work in high places and confined spaces. The work can often be dirty and difficult. May be required to work more than a normal workweek, including weekends. Travel may also be required. Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement.


$24.00 - $30.00 per hour Local Pay

Travel Assistance and Per Diem available for those who qualify - Health Care available after 30 days on the job. 

Pipe Fitters & Welders (CuNi & Stainless Experience Preferred)

Pipe Trades Needed at Multiple Locations in California  .


  

Requirements:

Candidates are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent, able to read and comprehend blue prints, work at heights and in confined spaces. Candidates must also be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level, and square. Candidates must be flexible to work all three (3) shifts and work in inclement weather.

  • Welds or tack welds metal parts      together, electric, or gas welding equipment
  • Connects hoses from torch to      tanks of oxygen and fuel gas, and turns valves to release mixture. Ignites torch and regulates flow of gas and air to obtain desired temperature
  • Preheats work pieces preparatory      to welding or bending, using torch
  • Examines work piece for defects      and measures work piece with straightedge or template to ensure      conformance with specifications
  • Climbs ladders or works on      scaffolds to assemble structures
  • Signals crane operator to move      large work pieces
  • Dismantles metal assemblies or      cuts scrap metal, using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment
  • Positions and secures parts, using hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand tools
  • Selects, positions, and secures      torch, cutting tips, or welding rod, according to type, thickness, area,      and desired temperature of metal
  • Guides and directs flame or      electrodes on or across work piece to straighten, bend, melt, or build up      metal
  • Fuses parts together, seals tension points, and adds metal to build up parts


CANDIDATES MUST PASS THE CARBON PIPE TEST IN ORDER TO TEST FOR STAINLESS PIPE WELDING.

Non-Local Pay $22-23.00  Daily Per Diem $180.00
