Been reading through the comments on google about Achievement Marine, couldn’t agree more with most of them. These guys have gained a reputation as the straight shooters in the pacific northwest diesel engine repair market. Last week was my first time dealing with them and I didn’t get the news that I was hoping for after they inspected my port engine, but the through write-up and debriefing convinced me that their diagnosis was complete. Parts are on order and repair is scheduled for early February (call as early as possible they are booked solid).

A shout out to all my fellow traveling shipyard friends… come work for Achievement Marine! We just finished up here in Mayport, Florida and are headed to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin after Christmas to do the great lakes winter fleet ships with them. Steve is supposed to be up there mid-January, so hit him up if you need work.

We had a great experience with Josh & Arron today while they were on our boat. They were very professional and took timeout to patiently answer my questions concerning engine room safety and what spares parts I should keep on the boat. Even with all my interruptions they completed our shaft alignment and engine service within the time allotted on the estimate. Friendly service goes a long way with my wife and I as we are getting older and have had bad experiences in the past with service technicians our boat. Looking forward to seeing you guy's next year when it's time to get our annual service.

By far the best experience that I have had working in the ship repair industry! If you work for this company Jenna and the HR team will ensure that your pay is correct and keep you informed of any changes in your deductions. They look out for you at Achievement Marine, work for these guys if you have a chance.

I cannot sing the praises of the folks at Achievement Marine & Diesel Systems too loudly. Professional, knowledgeable, customer centric (really!), communicative, straight forward and honorable. I've been with them over two years now, and every exchange with them is solid. A few months back, the mechanics working on other systems, noticed a brewing electrical issue. Saved me from a near certain onboard fire in coming months. Most recently, I was struggling with generator issues while cruising the Islands. Brandon worked with me for several days by phone and video, as I chased the problem. He expedited parts, spent many hours on the phone, took my calls over the weekend on his days off, copied manual sections to help me "see" what I needed to do, and in the end he and I were able to resolve the problem. Without his support, I would have been truly stuck! Many thanks to Brandon and the entire Team at Achievement Marine! Count me a customer for life!

It’s a rare company that will take a call on a Sunday and walk you through an issue for over an hour and then not bill you for it. If you are looking for a mechanic who is there for you rain or shine, Brandon and his team at Achievement Marine are they guys to call.

Steve, Jenna and their team are great to work for! I have been doing navy shipyard contract work for 15 years and no other company has even came close to treating me with respect and professionalism like Achievement Marine. For starters the owner picked me up from the airport because his driver was at the shipyard, he was a really cool guy and took me to the hotel. Everything was prepared for me when I arrived and I was able to get processed into the shipyard and working within two days. Great people to work for they really care about their employees and help us be successful!

We would like to highly recommend Achievement Marine and Diesel Services if you need work on a diesel engine. We had them service our Volvo Penta D4-300 on our Ranger Tug R31S at the Des Moines Marina last Wednesday. They showed up on schedule, had all their tools and were complete with the 800 hour maintenance in about 2 hours, at a very reasonable price, which matched their estimate. We had to have them return the next day because we had a cracked sea strainer that decided to leak, fortunately while we were still at the dock. They pulled our mechanic off the job he was on, and came right away. They had to source a replacement part, pick it up and install it, all in the same day. They left our engine spotless. If you look at their website, you may think they only work on large diesels. By the way, we're not affiliated with them in any way. Just wanted to let everyone know when someone does a great job.

Our fuel barge project was relatively small, so we shopped around for an augmentation support company that would be affordable yet could deliver a team of skilled pipe welder/fitters for a 4–6-week turnaround. We decided on using two large well know labor support companies to assist us to ensure that the project went off without a hitch. What we got from one company was one group of non-English speaking welders with mostly industrial experience and the other company sent us three pipe welders with mostly navy new construction experience that did not want to fit their own pipe. The second group basically decided to walk away from the project the third day on the job when a navy repair project opened up at the Mayport navy base. We reached out to Steve and his team one week into the project with very low expectations of success. Steve came highly recommended from a colleague at American Commercial lines. The team he sent worked 12 hours a day to rip-out the pipe that the other two companies’ employees botched, worked seven days straight to get the project back on schedule and completed two days early. We were able to do all the pressure testing before the team left and to our surprise, we had no defects in the repaired pipe system. Lesson learned use MARINE STAFFING EXPERTS vs. big box agencies to get your marine project completed correctly and on time!

Aaron was extremely helpful, and we were pleased with the service. We have had some bad experiences with diesel mechanics who have charged us a lot of money to tell us that we need to replace all kinds of things, and who did not end up fixing what we haired them to do. Aaron was clearly knowledgeable, quick and helpful. He answered all of our questions and knew exactly what to do and where to look. Generally, this was our best experience yet with any kind of boat service company, and we will certainly reach out again next time we need some help. You’ve been extremely communicative and responsive, and you were able to get this done the same week we emailed you. We emailed several other companies for quotes, most of whom said that they could put us on their wait list for March. One said to expect to spend approx. $2,000 and up – which we thought was ridiculous. You can expect us to be return customers and we will recommend you to friends whenever we can.

On a recent commercial vessel project we were in a bind and found ourselves falling behind more each day due to the lack of qualified craft workers within our organization. I want to thank the team at Achievement Marine for going above and beyond to identify the right workers, get them to our worksite and help us finish the job within budget and on schedule. Our front-line managers were pleasantly surprised by the experience of the welding team that arrived and the professionalism that was exhibited by the whole Achievement Team! I would defiantly recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a first class labor provider that treats their employees right and is not full of excuses.

When it comes to buying a used boat; it's impossible to know what to expect. When it comes to buying a used boat out-of-state it becomes even more daunting. Not being familiar with the mechanics in the area of Seattle I was left completely to "word-of-mouth" references of people who might be able to work on my boats old engines (Ford Lehmans 120's). Brandon and Achievement Marine came highly recommended. Over the next several weeks they went entirely above and beyond the type of service I expected.
The very day I contacted him to discuss the possible work needed he made time to go and visit the vessel and make an assessment himself. Following that was a straightforward and accurate quote regarding the repairs and consistent updates as the work progressed. I can't explain what peace of mind it brought me knowing that they were keeping me in the loop like that. They even arranged to have spares of materials necessary for a long voyage through the Inside Passage brought on board and waiting for us when we finally arrived to bring our vessel home. It became very clear early on that Brandon and his team runs an operation at the highest level of both quality work and professionalism.
What really proved invaluable was the assistance Brandon provided even after the repair work was finished. That's something you just can't buy. Brandon made time to provide assistance remotely for advice on several unrelated issues when he certainly didn't have to. This company is passionate about their work and it shows and having someone that you can depend on when things go wrong even after the check clears is incredibly comforting. Thank you again, Achievement Marine!

These guys are the best in the business, experience matters and it shows at all levels within their origination. The inspection that they did for us and the subsequent work that we had them do on our Hatteras M60 included a written estimate (with pictures), a manufactures spec sheet for us to review and to our surprise the final bill was right on the money. What we were told by another company was going require an inframe overhaul to correct turned out to be a relatively inexpensive injector repair and adjustment.

I contacted Achievement Marine seeking help in diagnosing what appeared to be high oil pressure on my port engine. Brandon responded almost immediately to my email request. After several email exchanges he recommended that I install pressure gauges directly on the engines to obtain reliable pressure readings. He stated that he would be happy to install the gauges but suggested that installing these gauges was relatively straight forward and that I could easily do it myself! After installing the gauges I took readings under various engine loads and reported them back to Brandon. Brandon consulted the shop manuals and concluded that the oil pressures were well within the manufacturers recommended range. I was relieved. Brandon and I had over half of dozen email exchanges over the course of 4-5 weeks. Recognizing that Brandon had expended well over an hour or two of his time researching my problem I encouraged him to bill me for his time. I was pleasantly surprised when he refused to Bill me. I will definitely have Achievement Marine work on my boat next time I need engine work! I was also pleased to learn that they will travel to my home port which is over in a Port Ludlow and that they have a very fair method for calculating travel time (basically the clock doesn't start until they get OFF the ferry). Brandon - thank you for all of your help!

Achievement Marine & Diesel Systems Marine have been serving the PNW for many years and were independently recommended to me by several professionals in the local marine industry as the best Diesel Mechanics in the sound. They did not disappoint. One of the Hino diesel engines in my recently purchase motor yacht started smoking very badly during our first extended cruise. I called Achievement Marine shortly after returning to port, who sent mechanics out to diagnose the problem within 3 days of my call. They quickly identified the problem as bad fuel injectors. After bench testing them to confirm the diagnosis, they then had them rebuilt and reinstalled within a couple days. Sea trials confirmed the solution. The entire process took a little over a week from my first phone call to fully restored operation. Quick, expert service at a reasonable price. Can't ask for more than that.
